Alzheimer Society of Dufferin County
Providing support for persons living with dementia and their caregivers through system navigation, access to support groups, one-on-one support, and dementia education.
- The Alzheimer Society of Dufferin County facilitates several programs to assist persona living with dementia and their caregivers.
Programs available in Dufferin County:
-Montessori programs: Montessori kits, resources and information on Montessori approaches to dementia care
-Behavioural support: Acute behavioural consultant in Headwaters Health Care Centre, behavioural service worker support, Psychogeriatric resource consultant services
-First Link program: Assigned First Link coordinator with assist clients with system navigation, one-on-one education, and emotional support throughout the caregiver or person living with's dementia journey
-Education series: Getting started, Finding your way, Estate planning, Tax, Compassion fatigue, Long-term care planning, Grief and ambiguous loss
-Support/Social groups: Making memories social group, Caregiver pathways support groups (All caregivers, Adult children, Young onset), Walk for wellness, Music therapy
